HBP has become a home away from home for our daughter
Homeschooling your child is a very big decision for a family and finding the right support is an important piece of that. HBP opened the door to a community with devoted teachers who embrace the learn from home life, sweet friends and lots of fun! It has become a home away from home for our daughter and we feel very fortunate to be a part of it.
An incredibly warm, accepting and close-knit community of families, teachers, staff and students
The HomeBased Partnership has been an amazing place for our daughter! HBP fosters an incredibly warm, accepting and close-knit community of families, teachers, staff and students. The program has allowed our daughter to pursue many of her own interests while providing valuable resources for her educational development. We’re honored to be a part of the HBP family!
A refreshing combination of freedom, nurturing support, community, and continuity
The magic of the Home Based Partnership lies in the teachers and families that steer this program and in the refreshing combination of freedom, nurturing support, community, and continuity that HBP fosters. Kids, teachers, and parents alike look forward to their time each week on the inviting open grounds of the campus: the big green fields for group games and running, and the playground and equipment for outdoor activities, the tree-covered picnic areas, and the spacious and friendly classrooms, full of supplies for crafts, games, dress-up, sewing, weaving, reading, making art, building, and exploring at their own or assisted pace and through the weekly guided activities that take place on Open Days.
My son is allowed to be himself!
My 7 year old son is a sensitive, thoughtful, careful, thinker with a developing sense of humor and a big compassionate heart. HBP has been amazing for him because his quiet shy voice is heard! He is not one of 25 children in a brightly lit, over-stimulating, busy classroom, he is a child in a open outdoor/indoor classroom setting with plenty of natural light, open space, and child-led projects, with usually 6 adults supervising the 30-40 children there. The adults are all listening and offering company, insight, conversation, and educational tidbits to plant seeds in his young mind. He is never shushed, dismissed, looked over, ignored, or belittled. If he wants to take extra time on a project to make it perfect, he is encouraged to do so. He is allowed to be himself!
Teachers at Home Based Partnership are amazing! Some of them are longtime homeschoolers themselves.
I just want to add that the teachers at Home Based Partnership are amazing! They are all such loving people who are so supportive of homeschooling. Some of them are longtime homeschoolers themselves, and they are all selected by the parents to be the teachers there. I’ve learned so much from watching how they interact with kids during the day. And we have met or reconnected with so many great homeschooling families along the way. We have been a part of this community for over 13 years. 2 of my kids have graduated and 2 others are still enrolled. I even teach elective classes there. I hope their new program would help support homeschooling families who are looking for more flexible approach to Independent Study Program.
A perfect mix of academics and creative skills, and the schedule offers a lot of time with other children
I think that many people don’t realize how much HBP has to offer. For our family it has been a perfect mix of academics and creative skills and the schedule offers a lot of time with other children. I love the continuity, seeing the same families every week and having the same teachers for many years. I love the interaction of little kids with the big kids and the skills they develop from each other. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this program.
The best decision for our child’s education
HBP has been the best decision we’ve made for our son’s education. The flexible scheduling is much more conducive to our lifestyle, and the ability to integrate real life experiences with conventional curriculum is priceless.
